Carmen Bocanegra, 79, a dedicated wife, loving mother, compassionate grandmother and generous great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2023, in Arlington, TX.
Carmen Hernandez Bocanegra was born on January 20,1944 in Carrizo Springs, TX to Marcos Hernandez and Concepcion Duran Hernandez. She married Eduardo Bocanegra on January 5,1964, where they shared fifty-nine years of marriage together. The couple was blessed with 2 children, Norma Ceske and Eduardo Bocanegra, Jr. and they moved to Arlington in 1976 where they lived until their passing.
Carmen was known for being sweet, kind, funny, and caring. She cared for others more than herself. She started her career working at Sheplers’ Western Store (now Boot Barn) and retired after 29 years. She loved dancing to all kinds of music from Disco Tejano and Country. She was often seen at the Elks Lodge in Arlington (where they were members for many years) cutting the rug with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing and singing Karaoke. Many will remember her spectacular, personalized masks during the height of Covid.
Carmen was also involved in the St. Bernadette’s Guild which supports the families at Most Blessed Sacrament Church and the community.
Carmen enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
Carmen is survived by her daughter, Norma Ceske and Douglas Ceske (husband); son, Eduardo Bocanegra, Jr.; grandchildren, Enrique L. Luis Jr, Anthony R. Luis and Daniella Luis (wife), Raymond A. Luis, Daniel Ceske and Maritza Ceske (wife); and great-grandchildren, Abigail Luis, Sophia Luis, Nathaniel Luis, Eliana Luis, Jayden Luis, and Jeremiah Luis.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Bocanegra; brother, Guadalupe Duran Hernandez; sisters, Juana Reyes, Concepcion Hernandez and Oralia Faz.

So sorry to hear of Carmen’s passing. But one thing for sure, she and her handsome Eddie are back together. In the dictionary under Happy Marriage is a picture of Carmen and Eddie. RIP, love Linda Schroeder(Sheplers gang)
I am so sorry about the passing of Carmen. Got to help her & Eddie celebrate their 50th Anniversary. She was such a sweet lady. RIP Carmen!! I know you are in a much better place with Eddie. Love Debra Stahl(Sheplers Group)
We always enjoyed watching Carmen and her husband dancing at the Elks Lodge. Now they are dancing in the stars with our Heavenly Father. Rest in peace sweet lady.
Our prayers of sympathy and comfort to all the families.
