Carlene Ann Rice Sanders, 84, passed away Sunday, April 24th 2022 in Arlington Texas.

Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, May 6th, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 1927 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington 76017.

Carlene was born on August 27th 1937 in Minco, Oklahoma to Fredrick Henry and Veronica Ratterman Rice. She was the last of six children, all now deceased. She was married to her high school sweetheart Marvin John Sanders of Union City, Oklahoma for 64 years. She was blessed with 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren who filled her life. She was a graduate of Minco High School and Mercy Hospital where she finished first in her class. She spent many years as a registered nurse at Arlington Memorial Hospital and the former St. Joseph Hospital of Fort Worth. She taught nursing at St. Joseph’s and was later employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Dallas.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Maria Goretti, St. Vincent and St. Joseph Catholic Churches where she served the Lord. She was a very talented artist creating beautiful works of art, in oils and ceramics.
She loved to dance and she loved to paint, but mostly she loved God and her Family. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts and souls.

Survivors: Husband, Marvin John Sanders; and daughters: Teresa Wade and husband, John Wade, Catherine Gillmore, Patti Bilardi and husband, James Bilardi, Carri Davis and husband, Tom Davis; son, John Marvin Sanders; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
