ARLINGTON -- Parker Brent McFarlin, 49, husband, father, friend and faithful servant, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Hurst. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday at North Davis Church of Christ, 1601 N. Davis Drive, Arlington with Chris Hatchett officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Memorials: Donations may be made in Brent's name to Hearts and Hands, Live Beyond Haiti or Christian Homes and Family Services of Abilene. Brent was born on November 18, 1965 in Arlington to Robert Lee McFarlin Jr. and Marilyn Gay Parker McFarlin. He was a graduate of Abilene Christian University receiving a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Brent and his wife Melanie have two daughters, Marlee and Avery. He had been Vice President of Field Operations and Production for two years and prior to that was KPost Company's Director of Project Management/Estimating for six years. In his previous position as Head of Estimating, Brent managed a team of Estimators, Project Managers and a CAD Operator. Brent's team had safely and successfully completed over 700 projects totaling more than $250 million since January 2004. Brent brought twenty-three years of experience in commercial roofing having worked as a Project Manager, Estimator, General Manager, and Director of Pre-Construction. He had extensive experience working with Owners, General Contractors, and Consultants utilizing roofing systems of all major manufacturers to provide the clients with the best value engineered systems. As Vice President, his team of five Superintendents and three Project Managers managed over 100 projects per year with 270 field employees, while integrating KPost's wireless timecards, digital field folders, and safety and maximum yield programs. Brent's operations team was recognized each year as a team of roofers who have achieved numerous national, regional and local awards for quality, safety and leadership. Brent graduated from the NRCA's Future Executives Institute in February 2011 and is involved in several roofing associations. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees for Christian Homes and Family Services. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gay McFarlin; son, John Park McFarlin; and brother, Trey McFarlin. Survivors: Wife, Melanie McFarlin; daughters, Avery Janelle McFarlin and Marlee Faith McFarlin; father and stepmother, Robert and Charlotte McFarlin; stepbrother and sister; two sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews
