ARLINGTON -- Bonita LaJune Robinson Mills Bass Newman, RN passed away from Breast Cancer on Monday February 27, 2012. Service: There will not be a formal service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice or a local animal shelter. LaJune was a loving mother, wife, and friend to anyone who met her. “Junie” believed she was a seven year survivor because she provided comfort and hope to others. She left pleasant memories in Mobile, New Orleans, Marietta GA, Arlington TX, Scotland, England, and every state between Virginia and California. LaJune's first passion was being an operating nurse, whether it was transplant surgery, gut surgery, plastic surgery, ortho “sterilized carpenter tools”, neuro, or heart surgery. Surgical humor dictated that the fastest way to a man's heart is not through his stomach, but between the fifth and sixth rib. Her caring compassion benefited patients and hospitals in Case Management and Risk Management. She is preceded by her brother and sister, Randy and Kay Dyess, and her father and mother, Bruce E and Wilder Grant Robinson. Survivors: She is survived by her husband Jeff Newman, sons Gabriel Mills, Mobile, AL and Shaun Bass of Arlington. In addition, she is survived by Lonna and Aurora Terry, several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Initially she did not want genealogical research; except she found out she is not related to those Grants or those Oswalds. Wade Family Funeral Home Arlington, 817-274-9233
