Bettye Sue Baker

bettye baker

July 11, 1941 ~ February 21, 2024

Born in: Denison, Texas
Resided in: Arlington, Texas

Betty Sue Baker passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 21, 2024, at the age of 82 in Arlington, Texas. Sue is preceded in death by, according to her, “almost everyone”. Sue left behind her husband of 64 years, George Baker, and three sons, Benjamin Baker and spouse Susan of Denison, TX, and David Baker, and Steven Baker of Arlington, TX. She is also the grandmother to four: Kirsten Nicole Seargeant of Denison Texas, Erin Cox of Denison, TX, Taylor Baker of Dallas, TX and Zachary Baker of Denison, TX. Sue is also the Great grandmother to six: Jaydin, Jacob and Julian Seargeant, and Caleb, Sadie, and Millie Cox.

Born and raised in Denison, TX, and a long-time Arlington resident Sue had a career in the Insurance Industry prior to going to work for the AISD. Sue was a woman of incredible faith, a dry sense of humor and the patience of a saint… Unless you pushed her buttons. As George would say, tread very carefully around that button, and her boys would confirm, you need to be pretty careful and not push it. Her grandkids would tell you that button’s not that scary and according to her great grandkids, “what button”. We’ll miss you, Gigi.

Memories Timeline

  1. Sue was the sweetest person you could know. Thank you so very much for helping me become a part of the ITD family. Heaven has an angel and we will forever have someone watching over us. We all love you.

  2. …..if one googles the word “ lady”- SUE BAKER’s name would appear. My most cherished times with AISD were spent with this beautiful Christian lady! I worked alongside of her for quite a few years and there were wonderful times we shared. Eric and I so enjoyed our visits and dinner with she and George. Rest in peace lovely lady- you will be missed🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻much love to George, the boys and her precious grans❤️

  3. Sue always had a smile and was the nicest person. I haven’t seen her for awhile so this is a complete surprise and a reminder of how fast time goes by. I will always remember her smiling and laughing and that is a good memory to keep.

  4. CandleImageI sure enjoyed visiting with her. Lovely lady she sure raised a wonderful family so sorry for your loss

  5. I was privileged to work with Sue at Jerry Jordon Insurance Agency. She was the sweetest kindness lady you would very want have as a friend. Even after I left the agency we would get together for lunch. Years later our families intertwined and we became family. You will be missed.

  6. I just loved Sue. We worked together many years at AISD and she always made me smile. She also had a smile on her face too. Hadn’t seen her in a long time but I am sure she is smiling in heaven now.
    My deepest condolences,
    Tammy Lajoie”
