MANSFIELD -- Angelo Michael Anzalaco, 92, passed away on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, in Mansfield. Funeral: 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Interment: 2:15 p.m. Saturday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane B. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Angelo was born June 12, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Vincent Anzalaco and Sara LaPiana Anzalaco. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a POW for 1 1/2 years. A resident of the Arlington-Mansfield area since 1983, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as head usher for 16 years. Angelo worked as a union steward in the construction industry. He was a member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus, Arlington Men's Club and Association of Arlington Golf. He and his wife enjoyed welcoming the troops back from overseas at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Angelo was preceded in death by five brothers; five sisters; and daughter, Carolyn Flottman. Survivors: Wife, Carmela A. Anzalaco of Mansfield; daughters, Diane Frazier and husband, Ronnie, of Grand Prairie, Angela Pyjas and husband, Tony, of Mansfield and Maria Scott and husband, Bobby, of Mansfield; son-in-law, Dick Flottman of Weatherford; twin sister, Jenny Persico of Tonawanda, N.Y.; grandchildren, Tina, Jason, Scott, David, Chuck, Amber and Justin; and seven great-grandchildren.
