Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10 am at Grace Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas. Graveside will be at 3 pm at Oakwood Cemetary, Corsicana, Texas.

Denita was born July 29, 1934 in Mexia, Texas to Joseph Burl and Lottie Bell Myers. She graduated from Mexia High School in June, 1952. Denita married Hancel M. Brannon on December 16, 1952. They were married for 66 years. Together they had three children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A lifelong Christian, Denita, along with her husband, taught 4th and 5th grade classes at Milby Road Baptist Church for several years. After leaving Milby Road Baptist, she was an active member at Grace Baptist Church.

She and Hancel joined the Lonestar Region Vintage Chevrolet Club in 1974. She served on the Board of Directors, hosted many parties, and assisted with their annual swap meet. She and Hancel enjoyed many trips with the club.

For over fifteen years, many children had the privilege of calling her "Grandma Dee" as she babysat them in her home. These children became her family too.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lottie Myers, sister, Kay Frels, and son, Benny Brannon.

Denita is survived by her loving husband, Hancel Brannon, son, Audie Monnett Brannon and his wife Sue, daughter, D'Ann Etheridge and husband Craig, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brannon. Grandchildren: Robert Van Zandt and wife Terah, Marshal Etheridge and wife Samantha, Sara Dee Etheridge, Stuart Brannon and wife Sarah, Katy Dine and husband Marc, and Laura Brannon.
