So very sad to hear of Roy's passing. He was one of my all time favorite people. He maintained my home AC system for many years along with letting me hang out with him on several projects including pitting for him at Texas Motor Speedway . Roy was a wealth of technical information along with having excellent common sense about life in general. I was calling him for lunch when I got the news. I so wish I'd made the service. Hope to see you in heaven my friend.

Roy was my friend. I met Roy June 17, 1995 in Abilene at the Sunburn Grand Prix. Roy was racing like he did on so many
weekends. I enjoyed cars and racing so I immediately joined Frances in his Pit Crew. When I had free time I would call the house to see if Roy could use an extra hand on the car. Roy was normally in the garage working and always welcomed the help. This led to many enjoyable weekends and long nights working in his garage on the race car. I enjoyed his company very much. One memory that I remember is calling and Roy saying, "sure come on over". When I arrived he said that Frances had heard I was coming and was thrilled....we were bleeding brakes and she didn't have to pump the brake pedal. The statement in the obituary about his willingness to help others is so true. I can't count the times that he worked on my air conditioner, welded something for me or just helped me repair something. Never accepting a penny for his time. He would say that he was just returning the favor for me helping him with the race car. But, for me working on the car and working on the Pit Crew wasn't work. It was pure enjoyment I got just hanging out with him, "working" on the race car and being part of his Pet Crew with Frances. I am thankful for the opportunity that he gave me to be part of a Race Team. I will always remember the friendship that I shared with Roy and Frances. I miss them very much.
