Ron was born in Chicago in 1932 and spent his formative years in Chicago and St. Louis. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri in 1954, Ron served as a medic in the U.S. Army, stationed with the Allied Forces in the American sector of what was then West Berlin. After being honorably discharged, he pursued his post-graduate education and earned an MBA from St. Louis University. During this time, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Kuehn, on May 2, 1959. Ron moved to Dallas in 1962 with his young wife and child to work in the aerospace industry where he developed long and lasting relationships. His entrepreneurial spirit emerged in 1973 when he went into the houseware textile business with a friend as a co-owner of JTI, Incorporated in Dallas. Ron went back to the aerospace industry in the mid-1980's and retired in 1995. Ron enjoyed his children and grandchildren, playing poker with all of his neighbors and later his friends at the Arlington Plaza. Ron was an avid fan of all the major sports teams in the DFW area, particularly the Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks.
Ron was preceded in death in 1998 by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Ann Kuehn Janovsky and in 2006 by his sons Alex Ronald Janovsky and James Ronald Janovsky.
