Lloyd was born on September 14, 1930 in North Freedom, Wisconsin to William Joseph Schara and Nora Edith Lyons Schara. He and his eight siblings were raised on a dairy farm in Saulk County Wisconsin. Lloyd and Mary Ann Schwanz married in 1949. He was a bricklayer in Baraboo, WI. In 1951, Lloyd with his younger brother, Virgil, moved to Dallas, Texas. After a few more years of masonry work in Dallas, he was approached to become a State Farm insurance agent. He quickly moved into a leadership role at State Farm. His 44 year career took Mary Ann and Lloyd from Dallas to Bartlesville, OK and then back to Arlington.
Lloyd had a very gentle way and generous heart. His love and affection for Mary Ann and the pride he had for his family was admired by all. He was also proud of his professional “Certified Life Underwriter designation “ and his 40+ year of perfect attendance with his Kiwanis club. Lloyd was passionate for his calling to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In September he would have been 88 years old and in October he would have celebrated 69 years of marriage to his high school sweetheart Mary Ann.
