Obituary for Virginia Ramsey

Virginia Ramsey
Virginia Beth Binion Brown Ramsey passed peacefully into Heaven on July 8, 2018 in Arlington, Texas.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Arlington with a reception following at the church.
Memorials: As is the tradition in our family, Mom requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the North Texas Humane Society.
Virginia was born a bright redhead on March 1, 1927 in Samford, Texas. Her wonderful parents were H.B. and Lucie Binion. Virginia went to North Texas Agricultural College and, later in life, went to TWU for her teaching degree. She taught 5th grade at Wimbish Elementary for 25 years. She loved teaching and was blessed with her fellow teachers who became lifelong friends.
After retirement, she volunteered for 18 years at the front desk of Arlington Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Arlington Woman’s Club (1969-2014), Rotary, Athenians Sorority, and play bridge with two clubs. Virginia was a longstanding member at St. Alban’s Anglican Church of Arlington. She loved to travel, including many times to Europe, Bermuda, Canada and all over the United States. Virginia had a deep love of animals. Her personal pets were the luckiest pets in the world. She had a heartfelt interest in world events and politics, Texas Longhorns and the Arlington Cowboys. Virginia’s warmth and humor were cherished by many dear friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Brown and Walter Ramsey; her parents; brother, Samuel; and a wealth of friends and family.
Survivors: Virginia will lovingly be remembered by her daughters, Rebecca Brown and Nancy Ramsey; granddaughter, Blair Elizabeth Banta; and great-grandson, Shane. Also are her beloved stepdaughters, Debbie Adams and Johnette Tingley; and stepson, Larry Ramsey.
